Police conducted raids in different areas of Pagla and Aliganj under Fatulla police station in Narayangank and arrested five young men on charge of involvement in violating a garment female worker.
The arrestees were identified as Robin, 21, son of Abdur Rahim, resident of Musarchor in Sonargoan upazila, Al-Amin, 21, son of Nurul Islam, a tenant of Shiblu Kazi house at Aliganj, Himel, 20, son of Mohibullah, resident of Aliganj, Mustak, 22, son of Selim Mia, resident of Aliganj and Masum, 20, son of Awal Haoladar, a tenant of Akbor Bepari house at Aliganj under Fatulla police station. Police are also trying to capture Imon and Raza who are suspected to be involved in this crime.
According to the case story two female workers of garments factory at BSCIC industrial area aged around 18, after completion their factory overtime job were returning to their home on August 19 midnight.
They were residents of Pangaon area under Keraniganj police station in Dhaka. Both the girls when reached Pagla ferry ghat then a gang of young men attacked the girls when one managed to flee while the other girl was forcibly taken by the criminal gang. After that the criminals isolated the girl and violated her repeatedly.
Within an hour of the incident the victim reached Fatulla police station and filled a rape case.
Police also claimed that they picked up the victim's girlfriend and the auto rickshaw driver for questioning over the incident.
Officer In charge of Fatulla police station Md Aslam Hossain told the media that all the arrestees were sent to court seeking fresh police remand to unearth the actual fact.
