5 IU students get fully funded scholarship from US

Five students of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia received full funding scholarship from United State of America (USA) under several discipline. 

They are: Naiem Hossen, Mamunur Rashid and Sumon Ali, students of Finance and Banking department under the 2017-18 academic session; Saddam H. Hridoy of the Biomedical Engineering department under the 2017-18 academic session; and Abdullah Noman Al-Nafi of Information and Communication Technology department under the 2018-19 academic session of the university.

Naiem Hossen, Mamunur Rashid and Sumon Ali received PhD scholarship from the renowned university of USA. They have received PhD letter in Financial Economics from University of New Orleans, PhD in Finance from University of Texas San Antonio, and PhDs from the University of Texas at El Paso, respectively. Saddam H Hridoy received PhD letter from University of California, San Diego, USA, for the Joint Doctoral Programme in Public Health, and Abdullah Noman Al-Nafi received PhD letter in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Maine, USA.

Meanwhile, Mahmudul Hasan, a student of Geography and Environment department under 2017-18 academic session of the university, received a scholarship from Universitat Leipig, Germany, under Masters’ programme of Science in Meteorology. He benefited from a free tuition fee and transportation costs from the authority.  

The students expressed that they are thrilled to receive scholarship from reputed university of the world and mentioned about many obstacles while focusing on research instead of BCS-centric studies. However, we are happy to represent Islamic university in the world, they added.
