A mobile court drive of department of environment demolished five illegal brick kiln and fined taka 23 lakh in Savar, on outskirts of the capital, on Thursday.
Maksudul Islam, executive magistrate of Department of Environment conducted the mobile court in cooperation with local police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
Maksudul Islam said, “We conducted the drive as part of the ongoing campaign of department of environment across the country. In this drive, we conducted mobile court at five illegal brick kiln and fined them taka 23 lakh. Also, we demolished those brick kilns so they could not be run their activities anymore.” Md. Shariful Alam, assistant director of Department of Environment, Saheda Begum, Deputy Director, Jesmin Akter, inspector of department of environment were present also at the mobile court drive.
