All preparations are completed to hold the fourth convocation of Chattogram University of Engineering & Technology (CUET) today amidst great enthusiasm among all.
Entire campus of the university has already been turned into a festive look with massive decoration, painting and other various programms going on ahead of the grand event.
President of Bangladesh and Chancellor of CUET Mohammad Abdul Hamid has given his consent to attend the convocation and will preside over the convocation ceremony while former Chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC) Professor AK Azad Chowdhury will attend the function as Convocation Speaker.
This was disclosed in the press conference held at Chattogrm Press Club auditorium on Tuesday.
Chairman of Publicity and Media Sub-committee Professor Dr Asiful Hoque read out the written statement in the press conference.
Dr Asif told the press conference that about 2,231 undergraduates registered their names to attend the convocation to obtain their graduation degrees and four best degree holders will be honoured with Gold Medal Award.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Deputy Minister for education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, Chairman of UGC Professor Kazi Shahidullah will also attend the convocation as special guests, the press meet also disclosed.
It may be mentioned that the golden jubilee celebration of the CUET will be celebrated tomorrow, December 06 in a day long programme in the campus where at least 10 thousand former students are expected to remain present.
Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud will address the golden jubilee celebration tomorrow as chief guest. City Mayor AJM Nasiruddin, Chairman of Parliamentary Standing committee on Ministry of Railway ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury will also be present at the function as special guests. Vice chancellor of CUET Professor Dr Rafiqul Alam will preside over the colourful golden jubilee celebration ceremony.
Dr Asif also said that various sub-committees are working relentlessly to complete the convocation and golden jubilee celebration successfully and preparations to this end have already been completed.
