450 farmers of Jhenaidah sadar upazila had received onion seeds, fertilizer and other agriculture inputs free of cost under incentive programme in the summer. The incentives were distributed at Jhenaidah Sadar upazila parishad auditorium on Sunday morning by Upazila parishad acting chairman Rashidur Rahman Rasel as chief guest.
Organized by Department of agriculture extension (DAE) of Jhenaidah Sadar upazila, additional deputy director of the DAE in Jhenaidah Khamarbari Jahidul Islam Biswas, upazila agriculture officer (UAO) Nur E Nabi, woman vice chairman Arati Dutt, agriculture extension officer (AEO) Junayeed Habib, Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) dealer Jahangir Hossain, Fursundi union parishad chairman Shikder Shahidul Islam among others present.
Each of the 450 marginal farmers receiving one kilogram of hybrid variety of onion seed, 20 kilograms of chemical fertilizer and polythene and other agriculture input free of cost.
Upazila parishad acting chairman Rashidur Rahman Rasel in his speech as chief guest said the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been standing by the farmers to recover the loss through proving seeds, fertilizer, bactericidal and other agriculture inputs as incentives free of cost so that could make the farming profitable. He said it will partially help the farmers to strengthen their socio-economic state.
