Free seed and fertiliser distribution program of Boro hybrid and Ufshi varieties has been inaugurated among 4 thousand small and marginal farmers of Ishwardi in Pabna.
Ishwardi Upazila Agriculture Extension Directorate organized this program on Tuesday morning under the banner of distribution of Boro hybrid and Ufshi varieties of seeds and fertilizers free of charge among small and marginal farmers under the agricultural incentive program in the financial year 2022-2023.
Ishwardi Upazila Chairman Naib Ali Biswas inaugurated the seed and fertilizer distribution program as the chief guest at the office premises of the Upazila Agriculture Officer. It was presided over by Mita Sarkar, the upazila agriculture officer and the welcome speech. Upazila Vice Chairman Abdus Salam Khan spoke as a special guest.
Chief Guest Chairman Naib Ali Biswas told the farmers that even an inch of land cannot be left behind as per Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's instructions. He gave this instruction to double food production.
And to double food production, he is giving free seeds, fertilizers and other incentives at certain times. So everyone should sincerely work to double the country's food production.
At that time, Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer Zahir Raihan, Assistant Agriculture Extension Officer Abdul Munnaf, Upazila Assistant Plant Conservation Officer Ekhlachur Rahman. Beneficiary farmers along with Assistant Agriculture Officer Zahid Hasan Hirak were present.
