Officials of the department of forestry had released 40 newborn kids and 14 eggs of poisonous cobra snake in a water body in a village of Shailkupa.
The kids along with the eggs were recovered from a crop filed at Baramoukuri village of Shailkupa upazila in Jhaenidah on Saturday afternoon.
Farmer Kesmat Sheikh said he saw a number of newborn cobra at his filed when he was working there. He killed a kid and informed the matter to the villagers. Huge people rushed there and caught total of 56 cobra kids along with a mother and 14 eggs.
As per the information, villagers rushed the field and caught 56 newborn cobra kids along with a mother and 14 eggs from the hole in the field.
He preserved the cobra kids and the mother in three earthen pots where 16 died of excessive heat in the pot. Hundreds of people irrespective of cast and age rushed the house of Kesmat Ali to witness the snakes and eggs.
Upazila forest officer at Shailkupa Serajul slam said the locals had informed him that a farmer of the village Kesmat Sheikh had caught huge quantity of newborn kids and seized eggs of poisonous cobra from a field.
As there was no major jungle or bushy area in the locality, the forestry department men had released them in the water of Noar Beal, a water body for their survival and safety.
