Some four people were killed in road accidents in several places of the country like Satkhira, Rajbari and Jibonnagar.
Satkhira Correspondent says: A retired government employee named Mostafizur Rahman (65) was killed in a road accident in Satkhira on Tuesday morning. The accident occurred after head-on collision between a Mahendra and an engine van on the Satkhira-Jashore Highway. The tragic accident took place in Waria area of Jhowdanga Union of Satkhira Sadar Upazila on Tuesday morning.
Deceased Mostafizur Rahman is the son of deceased Habibur Rahman of Tulsidanga area of Kalawar upazila. He is said to be a retired civil servant of the Satkhira Roads and Township Department.
Eyewitnesses said that Mustafizur Rahman was coming towards Satkhira on Mahendra Yog from Kalawara around 8 am. On the way, Mahendra collided with an Ignivan (Alam Sadhur) coming from the opposite direction at the Warrier area of Jhowdanga. He fell on the road and died on the spot.
Rajbari Correspondent reports: Two teenagers were killed when their bikes lost control and hit an electric pole while driving a motorcycle in Rajbari Sadar Upazila. The accident happened on Tuesday (March 12) around 7:30 am in Bhandaria Bazar area of Alipur Union of Sadar Upazila.
The deceased are Sohag (19) son of Abdur Rab Mondal of Alipur Union of Rajbari Sadar Upazila and Rajan Sheikh (21) son of Lalon Sheikh.
Jibonnagar (Chuadanga) Correspondent adds: A young man named Jiban Hossain (20) was killed in a road mishape in Jibonnagar Upazila . The accident took place at Kanapukur field on Hardi-Osmanpur road around 10:30 am on Tuesday. He was the son of Md. Rashidul Islam from Rajnagar village of Malihad union of Kushtia district..
Locals said that on Tuesday morning, the deceased Jibon went for a ride in Hardi Bazar with his cousin's motorcycle. On his way back, when he came to a place called Kanapukur field on the Hardi-Osmanpur road, the motorcycle lost control and fell off the road and hit a nearby tree. He died on the spot.
