317 new cases reported in 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, 317 new dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals, according to a press release on Friday from the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Department of Health. Fortunately, no new fatalities have been reported.

This year, dengue has claimed 177 lives, with total cases rising to 34,438. In Dhaka's two city corporation areas alone, 164 people were hospitalised in the last day.

Additional hospitalisations include 50 patients outside the city corporations, 19 in Mymensingh Division, 38 in Chattogram Division, 23 in Khulna Division, 10 in Rangpur Division, 7 in Rajshahi Division, 6 in Barisal Division, and 1 in Sylhet Division. Last year, the dengue outbreak was severe, with 1,705 deaths and 321,179 hospital admissions.
