In a combine drive comprised by district civil surgeon, police and executive magistrates of Deputy Commissioner office on November 18 sealed three unlicensed clinics at Salimullah road in the town and also fined two lakh and eighty thousand taka due to absence of required physicians.
Both the executive Magistrates Manzura Mossarraf and Nusrat Ara Khanom revealed that the district civil surgeon office immediately detected twenty two unlicensed clinics and hospitals and thus took preparation to drive against those to make closure.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed told that this figure are apparently detected but it is continue to find out others unlicensed and unlawful private clinics and hospitals in the district. It will take time, he added.
A staff of civil surgeon office Khandoker Mamun told that officially we found 90 private clinics, 56 diagnostic centers and some clinics and diagnostic centers under application for licensed are running in the district. He didn’t cleared that how number of clinics and diagnostic centers under application only. Besides, he added, a good number of private clinics and hospitals are functioning but those licensed are not updated up to this year. According to the civil surgeon office the sealed three clinics are Ashshifa Diagnostic and general hospital, New Samrat General Hospital and Sohel General Hospital.
The rest identified unlicensed private clinics and hospitals are Setu General Hospital, Sohel General Hospital, Ashshifa General Hospital and Diagnostic center, Samrat General hospital, Life General hospital, Vision Eye Care and Faco Center, Sahitunnesa Lions Eye hospital, Narayanganj Diabetic Hospital, Kadamtali General Hospital, Padma General Hospital, Kanak General Hospital, Melody Diagnostic Center, Merry Star General Hospital and Lab, Adhonic General Hospital and Diagnostic Center, Medyfan Digital Diagnostic and Consultation Center, Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) Hospital and Diagnostic Center and Araihazar General Hospital LTD.
Though it is learned in official information the private clinics and hospitals 146 in the district but the proper figure would be increased after a survey, an official of civil surgeon said.
