When the deadly novel corona virus was spreading, people of three remote villages under Shailkupa upazila have been declared their villages self lockdown to save themselves from the wrath of the attack since Tuesday morning.
The villages were self locked down tp prevent the attack of corona virus. The villages are Kashinathpur, Subiddah and Bhera dautia under Dhalaharachandra union.
Members of Kashinathpur Samajkalyan Juba Sangha, a voluntary platform by the local youths had arranged the self lock down since Tuesday morning. Chairman of local union parishad has been rendering all our cooperation with the initiatives of the youths, said the organizers.
Qamrul Hasan, a member of Kashinathpur Samajkalyan Juba Sangha, also coordinator of the lockdown when contacted informed the media activists that 60 members of the society have working at seven sports. They have been barring anyone to enter into the villages in from the outside. The people of the three villages were also advised not to leave the villages without reasonable purposes.
Kashinathpur Samajkalyan Juba Sangha president Abdul Gafur Master said, if someone from any outside village enters in to the said three villages, they bodies are sprayed with antiseptic lotion to destroy germs. They are provided soaps and masks for their safety with organization’s own cost. The matter was informed to Shailkupa upazila administration, he said.
The president said about three thousand people have been living in the said three villages. As a number of the villagers are poor and disadvantaged, they have been supplying rice, pulse, edible oil, soap, mask and other necessary items at the doorsteps of the people at a priority basis to ease their sufferings.
Admiring the self lockdown in three villages by the society, Dhalaharachandra union chairman Matiar Rahman Biswas said he had already stood by the society members as they have set up an example without any assistance from the government. It might help prevent the deadly disease in the locality, he said.
