Forest Department arrested three people from Karamjal area of Sundarbans for fishing with pesticides on Monday morning.
A boat, fish, insecticide bottles and other equipment were seized during the raid. Azad Kabir, an official at the Karamjal station of Forest Department in the eastern Sundarbans, said searching a fishing boat in the forest adjacent to Karamjal some fish and pesticide bottles were found.
Mohammad Billal Dhali, 40, Masum Dhali, 42, and Monirul Dhali (Manju) were arrested from the spot for carrying out activities that are harmful to forests and forest resources.
All the detainees are residents of Dakop upazila of Khulna. They have been sent to Khulna court after filing a case under the Forest Act.
