3 held with 468 bottles of phensedyl in Faridpur

Rapid Action Batallion (RAB-10) detained three drug peddlers with 468 bottles of phensedyl from Bhanga Upazila of Faridpur on Monday. 

A microbus used in carrying drugs and two mobile phones were also seized from their possession.

The detainees are identified as Naeem Rashid, 24, son of Mamun-ur-Rashid, Md Rajon Mia, 26, son of late Aminul Hossain and Md Rohel Mia, 26, son of Md Idris Ali. Three of them are residents of Chauadanga district.

A press release said acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-10, CPC-3 Faridpur camp conducted a drive in an area at Bhanga Upazila in Faridpur at around 2:30am and arrested three drug peddlers with 468 bottles of phensedyl. They also seized two cell phones and a microbus used for carrying drugs.

In a primary interrogation it was known that the detainees are professional drug peddlers. They used to collect phesedyl and other drugs from various border areas and supplied them to Faridpur and different areas of the country, including Dhaka. Moreover, there was a drug case against Naeem Rashid in Nagarkanda Police Station of Faridpur.

A drug case was filed against the detainees and they were handed over to the police station concerned.
