Awami League has suspended three leaders of Harinakundu upazila, including the upazila unit president, for their alleged involvement in conducting election campaign against the AL candidate.
The information was declared by Jhenaidah district unit AL office secretary Asaduzzaman Asad on Saturday noon. The said expelled AL leaders are president Mashiur Rahman Joarder, joint secretary Shariful Islam Sharif and Harinakundu municipality incumbent mayor and AL leader Shahinur Rahman Rintu.
AL office secretary Asaduzzaman Asad in his letter said that the leaders ignored the party decision and conducted campaign against the party’s candidate Faruque Hossain. They have been expressing instigation languages against the party candidate. Their activities are directly violation of the party discipline and creating confusion among the AL and front organization leaders and activities.
AL candidate Faruque Hossain had filed complaint against the three AL leaders.
The AL central committee had decided to expel the three AL men immediately.
