Police arrested two drug dealers from Katydid upazila of the district on Sunday (29 June). They were sent to Kishoreganj District Jail on Monday noon.
The arrested persons were identified as Md. Al-Amin (48), son of late Nur Chand of village Shimuha Digirpar, and Md. Shajahan Mia (42), son of late Abdul Kadir of village Vitipara under Katiadi upazila of the district.
According to police sources, a special team led by SI Mohammad Shafiqul Islam raided a one-storey building in Shimuha Dighirpar area of Banagram Union on Sunday on the basis of secret information.
At that time 30 pieces of yaba were recovered from inside the building.
Katiadi Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) MA Jalil said that a case was filed against the arrested drug dealers under the Narcotics Control Act.
Meanwhile, one person was arrested with drugs in Kishoreganj. Member of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested with 23 kg and 200 gram hemp from the district on Sunday night (28 June).
The arrestee was identified as Akram Hossain (42), son of Shamsu Mia of village Gozara under Itna Upazila of the district.
Deputy Director of RAB- 14 (CPC- 2) Lt. M. Shovon Khan said that RAB members raided Chilni area under Itna upazila and arrested him with 23kg 200 gram hemp. A case under Narcotics Control Act was field with Itna Police Station.
