3-day agriculture fair begins in Panchagarh

A three-day agriculture fair began on the Debiganj Upazila Parished premises of the district to raise awareness about Kandal crops among farmers and boosting their production by using modern agricultural technology and equipment.

Parliament Member from Panchagarh-2 constituency Adv Nurul Islam Sujon formally inaugurated the fair being organized under the auspices of Upazila Agricultural Extension Department.

A good number of farmers from across the upazila participated in the fair with their produces (potato, onion, nuts etc.) to display for the visitors. Besides, different agricultural equipments are being displayed in the fair to familiarize those among the farmers.

Speaking on the occasion, the MP said the government of Sheikh Hasina has been providing all necessary supports to the farmers to boost production in the country that pave the way to make the country into a self-reliant one in food production.

He said the government is providing quality seeds, fertilizers as agriculture incentive and others agri-inputs among the farmers free of cost for boosting production. Taking the government’s support to this end, he hoped that the farmers will put their total efforts to boost production for the sake of the country. Upazila chairman Modon Mohon Ray, Upazila Krishi officer Nayim Morshed and local Awami League leaders addressed the function, among others.
