A Cox's Bazar court has granted two-day remand for the three people arrested over the alleged gang rape of a female tourist in a hotel in Cox's Bazar.
Cox's Bazar Chief Judicial Magistrate Alamgir Mohammad Farooqi passed the order on Monday afternoon.
Cox's Bazar Zone Additional Superintendent of Police Mohammad Mohiuddin confirmed the matter to media.
He said that a five-day remand was sought for each of the accused.
The remanded accused are Rezaul Karim Shahabuddin (25) of South Baharchhara area of Cox's Bazar, Mamunur Rashid (28) of Ulubnia area of Dulahazara in Chakaria upazila and Mehedi Hasan (21) of West Baharchhara area in Cox’s Bazar.
A total of five people were arrested in the case. The main accused in the case Ashiqul Islam Ashiq was arrested in Madaripur on Sunday.
Earlier, another accused in the case, Riaz Uddin Chhoton, manager of Hotel Zia Guest Inn, was arrested by the RAB. Last Saturday, the court granted him a four-day remand.
The victim alleged that she was raped on December 22 in a shack near Kabita Chattar in the town. The woman was later taken to a hotel called Zia Guest Inn and raped again.
The victim's husband filed a case on December 23 mentioning the names of four people and accusing two to three people as unknown persons.
