3.94-lakh tonne Aman target fixed in Jashore

A target of producing over 3.94 lakh tonnes of Aman rice has been fixed from 1.94 lakh hectares of land for eight upazilas in Jashore this season. 

Officials of DAE and farmers concerned are expecting better Aman yield as the plants are growing excellent now  everywhere in eight upazilas of the district this season.

DAE sources said,upazila wise Aman cultivation as 25,830 hectares of land in sadar upazila, 22,530 hectares in Monirampur, 21,470 hectares in Sharsha, 18,100 hectares in Jhikorgacha, 17,140 hectares in Bagherpara, 17,050 hectares in Chaugacha, 9,275 hectares in Keshabpur and 7,630 hectares of land for Aman cultivation in Abhaynagar upazila of Jashore district.

Deputy director of Department of Agriculture Extention, Jashore  Badal Chandra Biswas said,we have directed field level agriculture officials to provide all necessary assistance and latest technologies to farmers to ensure successful cultivation of Aman rice in the district. DAE officials, growers and local farmers of the district expressed their similar hopes to get a bumper Aman production as climatic conditions are so far favourable for the purposes.
