Inter-Upazila level second Sheikh Kamal Juba games competition was inaugurated in Jhenaidah on Monday morning. The competition was inaugurated by Jhenaidah deputy commissioner (DC) Manira Begum at Jhenaidah Bir Shreshtha Hamidur Rahman stadium releasing balloons in the sky.
Bangladesh Awami League Jhenaidah district committee general secretary Saidul Karim Mintu, District Council secretary Salim Reza, additional deputy commissioner Rathindra Nath Roy, additional superintendent of police in Jhenaidah headquarters Imran Zakaria, additional deputy commissioner (revenue) Razibul Islam Khan and upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) in Jhenaidah Sadar Sadiya Jerin among others present as special guests. A number of teachers and students of different educational institutions were present there.
Karate, run, swimming, ball throwing events was held after inauguration at the stadium.
Participants from a number of educational institutions of six upazilas had participated in the competition. The final round of the games and prize distribution programme will be held at the same venue on the concluding day on Tuesday, the organizers said.
