2nd Bishkek Int’l Film Fest begins in Kyrgyzstan

The 2nd Bishkek International Film Festival will feature a special week dedicated to Iranian cinema.The 2nd Bishkek International Film Festival will run from June 11 to June 15.The Kyrgyztasmasy State Film Center announced on social media that four feature films and one animated film from Iran will be screened. 

Each film has received a state registration certificate for showing in Kyrgyzstan. The films that will be shown during the Iranian Film Week include "No Prior Appointment" directed by Behrouz Shoyabi, a drama from 2022; "Dolphin Boy" directed by Mohammad Kheirandish, an animated film from 2022 produced in Germany, Turkey, and Iran; "Captain" directed by Mohammad Hamzei, a 2023 release; "Squad of Girls" directed by Monir Gheidi, a drama from 2022; and "My Second Year in College" directed by Rasul Sadr Ameli, a drama from 2019.

The 2nd Bishkek International Film Festival will run from June 11 to June 15. It will host over 70 guests from more than 20 countries, bringing together a diverse group of filmmakers and cinema enthusiasts. Around 200 filmmakers are expected to take part in the festival. This event offers a unique opportunity for people in Bishkek to enjoy and learn about Iranian cinema. 

The selected films cover a range of genres, including drama and animation, ensuring there is something for everyone. The festival aims to foster cultural exchange and understanding by bringing together filmmakers and movie lovers from around the world.
