Bangladesh registered 29 more deaths in 24 hours from Covid-19 till 8am Sunday. The total number of deaths has reached to 28,589 with the latest figure.
The country recorded 8,345 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,861,532, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday.
The current positivity rate stands 21.50 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 14.63 percent.
In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.54 percent in the country, added the release.
Among the deaths, 14 were from Dhaka division followed by four each from Chattogram and Khulna, three in Rangpur, two in Mymensingh, and one each from Rajshahi and Sylhet divisions.
A total of 38,821 samples were tested across the country till 8am Sunday.
Some 8,159 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,594,391 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 86.09 percent.
As of Sunday, 5,753,983 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 394,491,165 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
