The 26th Annual District Convention of the Lions Club will be held at Engineers Institution Bangladesh Chattogram Center on March 18. Bangladesh Government Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Jabed MP will attend the convention as the chief guest. Sheikh Shamsuddin Ahmed Siddiqui PMJF, District Governor of International Clubs District 315-B 44, gave details about the convention at a press conference at Halima Rokeya Memorial Hall of CLF Complex in the city on Tuesday afternoon.
First district governor MDM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, second district governor Kahinur Kamal, former district governor Mostak Hossain and other Lions club leaders were present. Shamsuddin said, the scope of ongoing activities of Lions Club is being increased. 10 students have been admitted to Lion's Eye Institute this year. The people of Chattogram will benefit from the start of this institute. Although this institute has been started, it will become a self-contained institution in future. Lions Governor highlighted the contribution of the club in various calamities and accidents including Corona and said that Lions Corona Support Center has been established at Chattogram Mother and Child General Hospital.
Lions is providing health care to the grassroots through health camps in the remote areas of Chattogram region.
The convention will begin on March 18. On this occasion, a rally has been organized in front of the GEC Convention on the afternoon of March 15.
