A total of 26 teachers of Islamic University in Kushtia have been nominated for Science and Technology Fellowship.
A notification was issued by the Science and Technology ministry on Saturday in this regard.
It said each teacher will get Tk 2- 3 lakh to complete their respective project.
As many 1,158 researchers from different universities and institutes across the country got the fellowships in six categories- biology, medicine, interdisciplinary, physical science, environmental science and engineering and applied sciences.
The IU teachers receiving the fellowship are Prof Mizanur Rahman, Prof Nilufa Akter Banu, Associate Prof Mofizur Rahman, Assistant Prof Rezaul Karim, Associate Prof Mostofa Zamal Happy and Lecturer Anisul Kabir from the Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering department.
Besides, eight teachers of Electrical and Electronic Engineering department are Prof Abdul Momin, Prof Humayun Kabir, Prof Khalilur Rahman, Associate Prof Khairul Islam, Associate Prof Helal Uddin, Associate Prof Shahinuzzaman, Associate Prof Nasir Uddin Khan and Assistant Prof Abdullah Al Masud.
Prof M Moniruzzaman, Prof Ayesha Akhter Zaman, Prof Atiqur Rahman, Prof Sharif M Al Reza, Prof Minhazul Haque, Prof Arifuzzaman Khan, Prof Shamsul Alam, Associate Prof Sadiqul Islam, Associate Prof Ahsanul Haque and Associate Prof SM Abdur Razzak have selected from the Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering department
Two teachers from the Applied Nutrition and Food Technology department nominated for the fellowship are Prof ATM Mizanur Rahman and associate Professor Kamruzzaman.
