The 22nd founding anniversary of Jubo Mahila League, a women youth front of the ruling Awami League, was celebrated at Ishwardi in Pabna on Saturday.
The programmes included hoisting of national, party and organisational flags, paying tribute to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, discussion meeting and cake cutting. The programmes, organised jointly by Upazila and Municipality units of Jubo Mahila League, were held at the party office on Station Road in the upazila in the afternoon.
The 22nd anniversary celebration started with the hoisting of national, party and organisational flags in front of the party office at 11:00am. After that, the leaders paid tribute to the portrait of Bangabandhu with flowers. Then, a discussion meeting was held in the auditorium of the party office. Nuruzzaman Biswas, former member of parliament of Pabna-4 constituency, addressed the meeting as the chief guest.
Upazila Jubo Mahila League president Marina Yasmin Laki presided over the discussion meeting. Former upazila chairman and general secretary of upazila Awami League Mokleshur Rahman Mintu, upazila chairman Emdadul Haque Rana Sardar, upazila Awami League general secretary and former municipal mayor Abul Kalam Azad Mintu, upazila vice-chairman Abdus Salam Khan, Women vice-chairman Atia Ferdous Kakali, Municipal Awami League President Abdul Khalek, Zilla Parishad Member Tafikuzzaman Ratan and District Awami League Women Affairs Secretary Mahjebin Shirin Pia, among others, spoke at the meeting. Upazila Jubo Mahila League General Secretary Sohana Parveen Runa moderated the discussion meeting. After the discussion meeting, the cake was cut for the 22nd founding anniversary of Jubo Mahila League.
