Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) Station Chandpur, UNO of Haimchar and Upazila Fisheries Officer jointly conducted a special drive at Char Elmant area of Chandpur and seized 22 lakh meter current net on Thursday, says a press release issued by BCG.
The current net worth is Tk 8 crore. Later, the seized current net was destroyed in front of executive magistrate and fisheries officials.
On the other hand, acting on a tip-off, BCG members conducted a drive in a wooden boat at 15 No ghat area of Karnaphuli River and seized 2 lakhs pieces of contraband yaba pills in Chattogram on Friday. Seized yaba pills were handed over to Patenga Police Station for taking further legal action.
