The Directorate of Primary Education distributed multimedia projectors with sound systems among 203 government primary schools (GPSs) of Kishoreganj and Syedpur upazilas in Nilphamari on Thursday afternoon, reports BSS.
Officials said the digital equipments were distributed under the Fourth Primary Education Development Programme to launch academic activities in multimedia classrooms in these primary schools to make lessons easily understandable for students.
The Upazila Primary Education Offices concerned distributed the equipments among head teachers of 174 GPSs of Kishoreganj upazila and 69 GPSs of Syedpur upazila at separate functions held at their respective offices. In Kishoreganj, Upazila Parishad Chairman Shah Md. Abul Kalam Bari distributed the distributed the equipments at a function as the chief guest with Upazila Primary Education officer Sharifa Akhter in the chair.

In Syedpur, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) SM Golam Kibria distributed the equipments at another function as the chief guest with Upazila Primary Education Officer Shajahan Mandal in the chair. The upazila level government officials, members of school managing committees (SMCs), teachers, guardians, civil society members and local journalists attended the functions.
Speakers at these functions said the present government is implementing various projects in the education sector aiming at ensuring quality education at the primary level as well as secondary, higher secondary and higher education levels.
UNO Golam Kibria urged the primary school teachers, SMC members and guardians to successfully run the multimedia classrooms and work unitedly to successfully implement the government’s digitisation programme for faster development of the country.
“Education is the key to build a developed country beginning from rural villages by ensuring quality primary education for all children using digitised information and communication technologies,” he said.
