The SSC and equivalent exams will start on February 15.
This time, the total number of examinees for SSC, Dakhil, SSC (vocational), and Dakhil (vocational) exams is 20 lakh 24 thousand and 192.
Students from 29 thousand 735 educational institutions will participate in it. This exam will be held in a total of 3,700 centers.
All coaching centers in the country will be closed from February 13 to March 12 on the occasion of the upcoming SSC and equivalent exams.
This decision was taken at the National Monitoring and Law and Order Committee meeting held at the Ministry of Education on Sunday.
Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury presided over the meeting. After the meeting, this information was announced in a press release from the ministry. Secondary and Higher Education Department Secretary Suleman Khan, Technical and Madrasa Education Department Secretary Dr. Farid Uddin Ahmed, Chairman of all Education Boards of the country, law enforcement, and representatives of various departments and organizations related to examination activities were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, it was decided that only the secretary would be allowed to use cell phones or other unauthorized electronic devices in the examination center.
The union secretary can use a normal (button) phone without the facility of taking pictures or using the internet.
Action will be taken against unauthorized phone or electronic device users as per the rules. Officers, teachers, and employees engaged in receiving and transporting question papers from the Treasury or police station cannot use any phone, and a black glass microbus or any other vehicle cannot be used for carrying question papers.
Besides, an Executive Magistrate and a Tag Officer will be appointed for each centre. The tag officer will take out the questions from the treasury or police station custody along with the central secretary and take all the sets of question papers to the center under a police guard. Then the question set code will be announced 25 minutes before the start of the exam. Accordingly, the question paper packet will be opened with the signatures of the Central Secretary, Tag Officer, and Police Officer.
The Ministry of Education has said that law enforcement agencies and relevant departments of the government will strengthen surveillance on rumors related to the question paper leak on social media or the activities of groups active in this regard. Law enforcement and district administration will take strict legal action against those involved in leaking question papers or supplying answers to candidates.
During the examination, teachers, students, and staff will be prohibited from using mobile phones, watches, and pens with mobile phone facilities or any electronic device not authorized to be used in the examination center within 200 yards of the examination center. Immediate action will be taken against those who violate this directive.
