Indian police handed over two Bangladeshi young girls to Bangladesh through Benapole check post on Saturday evening after two years of imprisonment in India.
Petrapole Immigration Police of India handed them over to Benapole Checkpost Immigration Police.After serving the sentence, they were in the custody of Rescue Foundation of India, a shelter home in Kolkata.
Victim Marufa Khatun said that two and a half years ago, they went to Kolkata City hoping for Good Job by the humane traffickers. Later, the traffickers failed to manage work and flee. At that time, Kolkata police arrested them and sent to the Kolkata Court.
The Indian court later sentenced them two years jail. The returnees are Seema Akter 20 daughter of Sohrab Hossain of Bakergagna upazila of Barisal district and Marufa Khatun 21 Daughter of Azizur Gazi of Sadar Upazila of Satkhira district.
Indian police arrested them while working in the town as a labor. At the end of the sentence, a shelter home Rescue Foundation gave their shelter Home. Later returned to Bangladesh from shelter home in India. There are many Bangladeshi women and children like us in the shelter home.
