To ease the acceptance of the bail petition of the accused and for hearing of the same during the Coronavirus situation, two virtual courts have been set up in Rajshahi. With the virtual courts, lawyers of Rajshahi would now be able to submit the bail petitions and would participate in the hearing of the cases online by staying homes.
According to court sources, in accordance with the directives of the Supreme Court, two virtual courts have been created at the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Rajshahi to ease the bail process and hearing for bail prayers of the accused confined at Rajshahi Central Jail. From now on, the lawyers would be able to apply for the bail of their clients through e-
mail or through using the link-mycourt.judiciary. org.bd. After receiving the bail petition, the virtual court will fix a date for hearing of the case and inform it to the concerned lawyer and through video conferencing, the lawyer would be able to participate in the hearing of the case.
No -1 virtual court consists of Bagmara, Durgapur, Bagha and Charghat Upazilas will be headed by Senior Judicial Magistrate Abdullah Al Amin Bhuiyan.
