Two teenagers were electrocuted in Sharsha and Monirampur Upazila of Jashore district on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Hazrat Ali, 15, son of Idris Ali of Basatpur village in Sharsha upazila and Subrata Sarkar, 20, son of late Sukumar Sarkar of Bhabanipur village in Monirampur Upazila.
Elias Kabir Bakul, chairman of the Bagachara Union Parishad, said Hazrat Ali was injured on Thursday morning when he was accidentally electrocuted by a electric wire in his house. He was later rescued by his relatives and taken to a clinic in Bagachara where he died.
On the other hand, Subrata died by electrocution on Wednesday night. Syed Bakhtiyar Hossain, sub-inspector (SI) in-charge of Nehalpur police outpost, said that while repairing the house of Subrata, he was trying to connect electricity to the drill machine. At that time, Subrata died on the spot due to electric shock.
