A mother vessel MV Meghna Venus of Meghna Group carrying 54 thousand 400 mts of clinker anchored at Payra Samudra port's inner jetty. Unloading of clinker lighters from the mother vessel coming from Vietnam began on Monday.
Mother vessel MV Jin Zhu Xiang 88 from Singapore anchored at the same port. Coal unloader cranes for jetty of second unit of Payra 1320 MW thermal power plant have been brought by this ship. The weight of this crane is 1365.81 metric tonnes.
Azizur Rahman, Deputy Director of Traffic Department of Payra Port, said that the huge ship of Meghna Group arrived at the outer port on January 20. Clinker unloading by lighter vessels started on Tuesday after the ship had anchored in the inner first jetty of the port.
And MV Jin Zhu Xiang 88 from Singapore anchored at the port on January 21. Unloading of coal unloaders from the ship has started as the ship docked at the thermal power plant jetty Wednesday. With this, the second unloader crane has been brought to upload coal from the ship for the second unit built in this power plant.
