Police arrested two members of the banned militant group Ansarullah Bangla team from a Madrasa at Ista village in Jhikargacha upazila of Jashore on Wednesday night.
The arrestee were identified as Ataur Rahman, 27, son of Humayun Sardar of Amtali village in Tongibari upazila of Munshiganj, and Md Mozahidul Islam, 22, son of Ashraf Ali of Islampur Deepchar in Sadar upazila of Gopalgong. Police said they were members of the banned militant group Ansarullah Bangla team.
Tushar Kumar Mondal, officer in-charge Jashore Sadar police station, said some members of the extremist militant group Ansarullah Bangla team were planning and organizing anti-government schemes and raising funds at the Markazul Hunafa Al-Muslim madrasa in Ista village of Jhikargachha upazila. On receiving the news, Additional Superintendent of Police (C-Circle) Gulam Rabbani Sheikh led the raid at Marakazul Hunafa Al Muslimin Madrasa on Wednesday night.
From there, police recovered Laptop, Leaflet and some books were recovered from their possession for militant activities. A case has been filed against them at Jhikargachha Police Station.
