Two labourers were electrocuted to death at Comilla-Sylhet highway in Monshakai area unbder Kasba upzila of Brahmanbaria district on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Parvez, 25, resident of Sitakunda area in Chattogram and Bappi, 26, resident of the same area.
Police said the labourers were cutting trees on both sides of the road since morning for the construction of a four-lane road on the highway. Some fallen trees were being lifted by a crane to load them into a truck during noon. An electric wire accidentally broke at that time and fell on two labourers who were electrocuted immediately and died on the spot.
Officer-in-Charge of Kasba Police Station Raju Ahmed said on information, police reached the spot and recovered their bodies.
