Two drug vendors belong to Kumarkhali of Kushtia were detained by the elite force rapid action battalion (RAB) in Jhenidah on Sunday evening. The RAB men detained them with 310 yaba pills from a rural road of Kushtia-Dhaka highway at Seikhpara area, adjuscent to Islamic University in Shailkupa of Jhenidah.
The detained were identified as Rubel Hossain, 26, son of Abu Bakar of Lahinipara and Imran Hosssain, son of late Ramjan Mandal of Chheuria village under Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia.
Squad commander assistant superintendent of police Shafiqur Raghman said they conducted a drive as an anti-drug activities against the drug peddlers in the evening of Sunday. Acting on a tip off, they were able to nab the duo and later seized 310 pieces of contra banned yaba pills from their possession.
RAB filed a case with Shailkupa police station in this connection and handed over the detained to the police, RAB sources said.
