A yaba trader named Kamal Hossain, 48, was arrested with 10,000 pieces of yaba tablets by Bangladesh Coast Guard Station Teknaf on Thursday noon.
During regular patrol of Bangladesh Coast Guard, the man was arrested with Yaba tablets, searching the area adjacent to Badir Bridge on Naf River under Teknaf Police Station.
The detainee and the seized yaba tablets were later handed over to Teknaf police station for farter legal action.
In another operation, a man named Yasin alias Kaiya, 23, was arrested with 55 Yaba tablets by BCG station Himchhari on Tuesday midnight. The detainee is the son of Mohammad Alam of Uttar Sonar Para under Ukhia police station in Cox's Bazar distric, who was handed over to Ramu police station for legal action. Bangladesh Coast Guard adopted Zero Tolerance Policy to maintain law and order, public safety as well as to prevent piracy, robbery and drug control in the areas covered by BCG.
