Police have recovered a body after two fishermen went missing in a boat sinking in the beel area of Itna. Besides, the search operation for the missing Joy Badshah is continuing. The body of a fisherman named Shamim Mia was recovered from Mriga Haor in Itna upazila of Kishoreganj district around 12 noon on Monday.
According to local and police sources, Bulbul, Kalam, Sadir Mia, Joy Badsha and Shamim Mia of Prajarkanda village went fishing in Mrigar Haor on Sunday night. Later, when the boat sank due to strong wind, Bulbul, Kalam and Sadir Mia swam ashore. At that time Shamim Mia and Joy Badshah went missing. A team of Itna police went to the spot at night after receiving the news of the incident. Rescue operations were launched in and around Mriga Haor from Monday morning. Police recovered Shamim Mia's body from Mriga Haor around 12 noon. It is learned that the operation to rescue the missing Joy Badshah is continuing.
