A two-day long Karate training course was inaugurated in Jhenaidah on Monday morning. Sotokan Karate Do, a local karate club in Jhenaidah, organised the training course on the tennis ground of Jhenaidah municipality.
District sports officer Mahbubur Rahman inaugurated the course as the chief guest, while director of the club Kazi Ali Ahmed Liku and others were present.
The organisers said that a total of 29 students of educational institutions will participate in the training course aiming at protect themselves from the attack of any miscreants. National level Karate trainer Jasim Uddin, referee of the national team Matiur Rahman and other local trainers will train up the participants.
They said the life leading both in urban and rural Bangladesh became risky as the number of terrorists activities have been increasing alarmingly. This sort of training course will help build self confidence of the youths, especially girls.
