A two-day ‘Innovation Showcasing-2019’ began at Rajshahi College auditorium on Friday with the main thrust of making the existing
service delivery related innovations popular among the public in general, reports BSS.
Ministry of Public Administration and Commissioner Office of Rajshahi division jointly organised the divisional level event.
More than 30 district and upazila level offices and institutions from all eight districts under the division set 30 stalls showcasing various information and documents related to public service delivery and necessary process of getting those easily after the best uses of information and communication technologies.
Secretary to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) division Ziaul Alam addressed the opening session as the chief guest with Commissioner of Rajshahi division Nur-Ur-Rahman in the chair.
Director of A2i Project Mustafizur Rahman, Additional Divisional Commissioner Zakir Hossain, Deputy Commissioner SM Abdul Kader and Principal of Rajshahi College Professor Habibur Rahman also spoke on the occasion.
In his remarks, Ziaul Alam said Bangladesh will soon become an IT hardware-exporting country adding, “The present government is now setting up 28 IT parks in the country which will create jobs for three lakh youths by 2021.”
Alam further said they are working to create jobs for 20 lakh youths in the IT sector by 2021 through providing them with IT education, training and other
facilities.
He said Bangladesh is now talking about Digital Bangladesh under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the premier has taken the county’s IT sector to a new height.
The ICT Secretary urged the upazila and district level service delivery officials and employees to deliver public services after the best uses of ICT and innovations so that the grassroots people can derive total benefits of those.
