Camp Commander Naik Subedar Mojibar Hossain was seriously injured when he was stabbed by smugglers while patrolling Bastabar Shakhahati border of Dhamirhat in Naogaon. BGB rescued him in a dangerous condition and transferred him to Dhaka by helicopter. Meanwhile, another injured BGB source, Tarek Hossain, was admitted to Pateetala Hospital. When his condition deteriorated there, he was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for better treatment. BGB recovered official clothes of injured BGB from the scene. And enough BGB has been deployed at the spot.
It is known from BGB and local sources that on Friday night around 3 o'clock Border Guard Bangladesh 14 BGB members of Bastabar camp of Dhamirhat Upazila along with Naik Subedar Mojibar Hossain went to the banana plantation next to Shimultali Bridge in Shakhahati area to catch the smugglers. There, the smugglers suddenly cut Naik Subedar Mujibar Hossain and Source Tarek with sharp weapons and escaped. The smugglers hit Mujibar Hussain on the head and abdomen. After this incident, in the morning, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ariful Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police of Patoeitla Circle Aftab Uddin, OC Mozammel Haque Kazi and higher authorities of BGB visited the incident site.
In this regard, Naogaon-14 BGB Commander Lieutenant Colonel Md. Hamid Uddin PSC confirmed the truth of the incident and visited the scene and said that we are closely monitoring the entire incident. Exemplary punishment will be given to the culprits subject to investigation. Now the situation at the border is normal. The case is pending. Aftab Uddin, Additional Superintendent of Police of Pateetala Circle, said that after the initial investigation, two BGB members were injured due to the weapons of the smugglers. Although a case was filed at the police station, the defendants were quickly arrested.
