The number of total corona virus infested persons rose to 2,053 in Jhenaidah district with seven new cases on Tuesday morning. The number of death following the global pandemic was 35 throughout the district so far, informed the office sources of civil surgeon in Jhenaidah.
The sources said they had detected a total of 2,053 positive cases of corona virus in Jhenidah Sadar, Kaliganj, Kotchandpur, Moheshpur, Shailkupa and Harinakundu upazilas till October 27 (Tuesday) with seven new cases. Of the seven cases, five were detected in Jhenidah Sadar and remaining two in bordering Moheshpur upazila.
Death following the pandemic in upazila wise were 24 in Jhenaidah Sadar, five in Shailkupa and Kaliganj each, while one in Kotcandpur.
Dr. Salina Begum, civil surgeon in Jhenidah when contacted said 29 covid positive patients were undergoing treatment at Jhenidah Covid 19 Hospital under Jhenidah Sadar Hospital and home quarantaines. 2,552 covid detected patients were released from the quarantine till date.
Dr. Salina Begum said the health department with the association of deputy commissioner in Jhenidah Saroj Kumar Nath, have been continuing awareness campaign even at remote villages so that each and everybody should wear face mask and use sanitizers to protect themselves from probable infections anyway. District information office has been playing role to conduct publicity campaigns relentlessly, civil surgeon said.
