19th Apex Astro-Olympiad qualifying round July 13

To popularize space and astronomy, the qualifying round of 19th Apex Astro-Olympiad-2024 will be held at Government Haraganga College in Munshiganj on July 13.

More than 200 school and college level students of Munshiganj and Narayanganj districts will take part in the competition. Later, the qualifiers will take part in the national and international level.

The coordinator of Munshiganj and Narayanganj districts Safik Islam confirmed the matter at a press conference at Government Haraganga College in Munshiganj on Saturday.

He also said the students of schools and colleges aged between 14 and 18 can take part in the competition. A total of 200 students have registered their names for the competition so far. The participants will have to report at 7:30am on the day. A total of 40 students will be selected at regional level. Among them, 20 students will be in the senior group and 20 others will be in junior group. With the winners of the primary qualifying stage, the national level Astro-Olympiad will be held in Dhaka on August 3. At the national level, 15 students will be from junior group and 15 will be from the senior group. There will be a camp for four days. Finally, five competitors will be selected from the residential camp, who will participate in the 28th international level Astro-Olympiad from Bangladesh.
