Some 18 candidates have bought and submitted nomination forms of Awami League in Chittagong-16 (Banshkhali) constituency to participate in the upcoming 12th National Parliament election.
These candidates have bought and submitted the nomination forms of Awami League in this vacant seat of 3 lakhs 70 thousand voters consisting of 14 unions and 1 municipality. They include party leaders, politicians, academics and industrialists.
Salahuddin Shakib, member in charge of the Chittagong division of the Jatiya Sangsad election management committee, confirmed the matter on Wednesday morning.
The activists said that many of the people who have procured nomination forms are not involved in politics. They are not seen in the area. So want someone as a boatman who has always stood by the leaders and workers of trinamool Awami League and will continue to do so in the future.

Salahuddin Shakib, member in charge of the Chittagong Division of the National Assembly Election Management Committee, said that 18 candidates in Chittagong-16 (Banshkhali) constituency bought and submitted nomination forms of Awami League after a few days of great enthusiasm. Many of them are heavyweight and popular candidates.
