Normal operations of 17 police stations in Khulna city and district have already started under the supervision of Army and Navy.
The stations are Rupsha, Batiaghata, Dakope, Paikgacha, Koyra, Dumuria, Dighalia, Terokhada and Fultala in the district and Sonadanga, Khalishpur, Daulatpur, Khanjahan Ali, Arongghata, Harintana, Labanchara and Sadar in the city under Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP), police officials confirmed it to BSS.
Police commissioner Md Mozammel Haque said KMP has started operation with the help of anti-discrimination students' movement members under the supervision of Bangladesh Army and Navy.
People have been requested to call police when necessary, adding that traffic sergeants and constables have been deployed in most of the roads in the city.
Besides, large number of students, voluntary organizations, BNCC and Ansar-VDP members were also seen extending support to the police sergeants and constables contributing a lot towards restoring discipline in the roads and streets.
