Agriculture department will provide incentive worth Taka one crore 63 lakh to 17,200 small and marginal farmers in five upazilas of Joypurhat district this Robi season.
Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) office said underprivileged farmers will get this incentive for cultivating various crops.
They said 5,000 farmers will get incentive for wheat cultivation, 3,000 for maize, 8,000 for mustard, 500 farmers for winter onion cultivation, 200 for mug dal and 500 farmers will get the incentive for lentil pulses cultivation.

Each farmer will get 10 kilograms (Kgs) of Di-ammonium Phosphate (DAP), 10- Kg of Muriate of Potash (MOP) fertilizer and one-kg of seeds for onion cultivation while 10-kg of DAP, 10-kg of MOP fertilizer and 20-kg seeds will provide to each of the farmers for wheat cultivation.
Besides, each farmer will get two-kg seeds, 20-kg of DAP and 10-kg of MOP fertilizer for maize cultivation and 10-kg of DAP and 10-kg of MOP fertilizer and one-kg seeds for mustard cultivation.
On the other hand, each farmer will get five-kg seeds, 10-kg of DAP and 10-kg of MOP fertilizers for mugdal cultivation while 10-kg DAP and MOP fertilizer and five-kg seeds will provide to each of the farmers for lentil pulses cultivation.
Deputy Director (DD) of the DAE Md. Shafiqul Islam said the agricultural incentives would be distributed among the farmers through the Upazila Agriculture Office.
