The 15th International Children’s Film Festival 2022 begins at Bangladesh Film Archive at Agargaon in the capital on today March 5.
Children’s Film Society Bangladesh, the organiser of the festival, arranged a press conference in this regard at the Alliance Française de Dhaka in Dhanmondi on Thursday.
General Secretary of Children’s Film Society Bangladesh Munira Morshed Munni, festival director Shariar Al Mamun, festival supervisor Muhit Hasan Tarit and Alliance Française de Dhaka director François Grosjean, among others, were present at the press conference.
Munira Morshed Munni said, ‘Children’s Film Society Bangladesh was founded in 2006. We have been organising the festival since 2008. This festival aims at creating young filmmakers and helping children develop their personalities by exposing them to quality films.’
More than 2,200 films were submitted to the festival and 117 films from 38 countries have been selected for the event. Nine Bangladeshi films will be screened at the event.
A three-member children’s jury board will evaluate the films.
The inaugural ceremony of the festival will be held at Bangladesh Film Archive in the capital. The films will be screened at 11:00am, 2:00pm, 4:00pm and 6:00pm every day. Children and their guardians can enjoy the films free of cost. Visitors will have to follow health safety measures.
The festival will also feature four workshops. Eminent filmmakers and producers, namely, Amitabh Reza Chowdhury, Arifur Rahman, Muhammad Sihah Uddin and Raka Nawshin Nawar will conduct the workshops. Besides, the event will feature a quiz competition as well as conversation sessions.
