Some 15 people were injured in the fire incident due to gas cylinder explosion in Banshkhali. The incident took place at west Kul area of Mosharraf Ali Mia Bazar in Baharchara Union of the upazila around 10 am on Thursday.
The injured are - Rajib, Shamsul Alam, Sadek Hossain, Saeed Ahmed, Imran, Farhad, Azgar, Gafur Uddin have been admitted to Banshkhali and Chittagong Medical College Hospital. The rest received treatment locally. 5 garages were burnt to ashes in the fire. The victims said that there was a loss of more than Tk80 lakh in the fire incident.
Banshkhali Fire Service Station official Azadul Islam said that the fire happened in the car garage. The fire broke out while working on the garage. On receiving the information, a team of fire service went to the spot. But before that the locals brought the fire under control. At least 15 people were injured as the gas cylinder exploded again after the fire incident.
Sudhanshu Shekhar Halder, OC (Investigation) of Banshkhali police station, admitted the truth of the incident.
