The Consumer Rights Department has seized 15,000 liters of soybean oil stored in the market for the purpose of creating an artificial soybean oil crisis.
A team of the department raided several warehouses in Pahartali Bazar area of Chattogram city and seized the oil on Monday.
The matter was confirmed by Anisul Islam, Assistant Director, Consumer Rights Department of Chattogram Divisional Office.

He said 15,000 liters of soybean oil was seized from three godowns of Siraj Store in Pahartali Bazar. The campaign is still going on. Details will be told at the end of the campaign.
Earlier, the team of Consumer Rights seized 1,050 liters of oil at Karnafhuli Market in Sholashahar Sunday. 2,500 liters of oil was seized in Fatikchhari on Saturday night and 57,000 liters in Khagrachhari on Friday.
Mohammad Fayez Ullah, Deputy Director of the Department of Consumer Protection, said the oil bottles were stockpiled before Eid to make more profit by creating an artificial crisis in the market. Our campaign will continue.
