Some 148 more Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours in the division ending at 8 am on Friday raising the total healed people to 62,509 in its all eight districts.
Health officials said the Covid-19 pandemic situation continues improving fast as the number of healed patients and recovery
rate are increasing amid declining number of positive cases in recent weeks.
"The average recovery rate of Covid-19 patients currently stands at 97.51 percent in the division," Divisional Director (Health) Dr Abu Md Zakirul Islam said.
The 62,509 recovered patients include 14,550 of Rangpur, 4,325 of Panchagarh, 5,377 of Nilphamari, 3,194 of Lalmonirhat, 4,830 of Kurigram, 8,316 of Thakurgaon, 16,483 of Dinajpur and 5,434 of Gaibandha districts in the division.
Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 cases reached 64,107 in the division as six new patients were diagnosed after testing 120 new samples at the five percent positivity rate on Thursday.
Earlier, the daily Covid-19 positivity rates were 1.69 percent on Wednesday, 1.59 percent on Tuesday, 0.28 percent on Monday, 2.71 percent on Sunday, 3.27 percent on Saturday and 0.65 percent on Friday last.
The district-wise break-up of the total 64,107 patients include 14,956 of Rangpur, 4,415 of Panchagarh, 5,475 of Nilphamari, 3,281 of Lalmonirhat, 4,980 of Kurigram, 8,580 of Thakurgaon, 16,914 of Dinajpur and 5,506 of Gaibandha.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 3,39,767 collected samples were tested till Thursday, and of them, 64,107 were found positive with an average positivity rate of 18.87 percent.
On the other hand, the total number of casualties remained steady at 1,283 as no new death was reported during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am Friday.
