As a part of their continuocus drives, the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel of 58 battalion in Khalishpur of Moheshpur frontier in Jhenaidah have detained fourteen Bangladeshi nationals including six women and a child when they were attempting to enter in to neighboring Indian territory without valid documents.
The 14 were detained from Baghadanga frontier of the bordering upazila on Sunday night, said the BGB 58 battalion sources.
BGB 58 battalioan Qamrul Ahsan said the BGB personnel of Baghadanga border observation pharee (BOP) detained Joynal 32, of Magura, Paul Chowdhury, 15, of Kothorakandi in Madhukhali upazila of Faridpur, Joni Mir, 28, Shamima Khatun, 20, of village Siddhipasha of Abhoynagar of Jashore, Prashanata Bagchi, 26, and his wife Saraswati Halder, 21, of Jaharerkandi of Kotalipara, Jakaria Khan, 35, his wife Keya Khan, 23, of Khanjahan Ali, Nila Sheikh, 18, of Islampur in Jamalpur, Amena Khatun, 25, of Damodarpur, Nilima Khatun, 21, Hridoy Sarker, 28, of Dumuria, Sritikana Sarker, 41, of BK east lane in Khulna and Divakar Dewanjee, 50, of road 13 of sector 1 in Uttara of of Dhaka city corporation.
The arresteed 14 were trying to leave Bangladesh territory without any valid documents when the BGB personnel had challenged them. A case was filed with Moheshpur police station in this connection.
The detained were handed over to Moheshpur police on Monday morning. The border guards also detained three women from the frontier in the evening of same day, BGB battalion director said.
