A total of 126 dedicated teachers from primary schools across Bangladesh have been honored with primary education medals. This announcement was made by Primary and Mass Education Secretary, Farid Ahmed, during a press conference at the Secretariat.
Among the schools, Muhammadnagar Government Primary School in Batiaghata Upazila, Khulna, was declared best school for its exceptional progress. Once a struggling institution, the school now boasts 1,214 students. Secretary Farid Ahmed and the Director General of the Department of Primary Education recently visited the school to witness these improvements firsthand.
The school stands out in the community, especially as four nearby kindergarten and nursery schools have closed due to a lack of students, underscoring the success of Muhammadnagar Government Primary School.
The Primary Education Medal-2023 and National Education Week-2024 will commence with an opening ceremony at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital next Thursday. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will grace the event as the chief guest. Of the 126 honoured teachers, 54 will receive their medals directly from the Prime Minister, with the remaining medals being delivered to the recipients.
This recognition highlights the pivotal role teachers play in shaping the futures of their students and communities. The accolades awarded to these 126 teachers serve as a powerful inspiration to educators throughout the country.
Secretary Farid Ahmed praised the progress of Muhammadnagar Government Primary School and emphasized the transformative impact of quality education. The upcoming event will not only celebrate the accomplishments of these dedicated teachers but also underscore the vital importance of primary education in Bangladesh.
